Magnetic Island Community Church

Magnetic Island Christian Church is a branch of Sun City Christian Church that runs on beautiful Magnetic Island just off the Townsville coast. 

It meets at 10am every Sunday at
     Shop 10/ No. 9 The Esplanade, Picnic Bay, Magnetic Island..

There are a number of wonderful people and families on the island who come together each week to worship God, hear the word and enjoy each others company. 

If you live on the island or are visiting call in and enjoy church “island” style.

MAGNETIC ISLAND CHURCH VISION.

To grow a vibrant "cell" church on Magnetic Island, reaching people of all ages, emphasising love, acceptance, and forgiveness. To promote spiritual revival, and motivate and equip people for Christian Ministry both locally and as part of a global missions effort.

Sunday service will have a strong emphasis on music and worship, the style being contemporary, the atmosphere friendly, casual, and highly enthusiastic.

Our aim is to relate and respond to the needs of the individuals in our community.

THE CHURCH, THE ISLAND AND BEYOND ....

AN UPWARD VISION: "growing in the knowledge of God".

This comes from intimacy with God through prayer, worship and listening to him speak to us. We will do this individually and corporately.

AN INWARD VISION:

"that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and may please him in every way". This comes as we are mentally transformed in our thinking and become obedient to the teaching of His Word  by practical application  as to how we are to live as true disciples. This equates with character transformation.

AN OUTWARD VISION: "bearing fruit in every good work".

We do outward works of service for others. We all responsible to share our faith with others on the island and we each function in our unique giftings in service in our local fellowship and community. We desire to serve local residents, transient visitors and backpackers.

BALANCE requires the effective functioning of all three.

Just one or two means we are out of balance in our discipleship living.

UPWARD ONLY:

We are in relationship with the Lord but our lives are not changed and we do nothing for anyone.

INWARD ONLY:

We become good moral people but cold as we are out of intimacy with Him and do nothing to help anyone.

OUTWARD ONLY:

We help alot of people but we are spiritually dead through lack of relationship with Him and we can be living hypocritical lives at the same time.

CONCLUSION:

An unbalanced person is unstable and as like in the natural so too in the spiritual has potential to fall. We are seeking to be a balanced christian disciples. "and asking God to fill you with the knowledge of his will through all spiritual wisdom and understanding". In these ways we at the Magnetic Island Community Church will become mature fruitful believers in relationship with God, live lives that are examples to the Christian faith and touch others in our own unique outreach and service.
